Colin & Gail’s 1976 VK Valiant

Colin & Gail’s 1976 VK Valiant

Colin & Gail B’s 1976 VK Valliant Regal Sedan just after it had been resprayed and prior to its change over to Club plates in 2006. It has a 4.3 litre 6 cylinder engine with automatic transmission and power steering and brakes. It has under-the-dash Carrier Mark IV air conditioning. It is fitted with six seat belts. It has two bucket seats in the front with a fold up arm rest that creates a third front seat. In the back seat, there is the option of pulling down the centre arm rest to make it very comfortable for two adults. It was manufactured in May 1976 and sold by Thomas Brothers, Wagga Wagga in September 1976 to local people.
We purchased the car in 1990 when it had 99,000kms on the odometer from a retired couple in Wagga Wagga. We used the car as our family car until 2006. By that time, it had done 390,000kms.

Since 2006 the valiant has been on the club plate permit scheme as part of the Classic Motoring Club of Wagga Wagga Inc.

The Valiant has had quite a deal of work done on it. It has been fully resprayed, by Jeff N, to its original Forest Green metallic paint colour. It has had the engine rebuilt and the automatic transmission rebuilt. The suspension was completely rebuilt and reset to original factory specifications.

Gail and Colin enjoy driving the Valiant as it is a very comfortable car that has good performance and is easy to steer and drive.
